Ya queda un poco menos de un mes para el viaje a EEUU.
Desde 2009 hay un nuevo requisito para poder entrar en los Estados Unidos, hay que rellenar el formulario de acceso on-line, con el que se obtendrá la aurorización de entrada.
Tras rellenar el formulario online, el sistema automático responderá una solución: APROBADO o DENEGADO. (Existe otra respuesta menos común en la cual se valora la solicitud, y en el plazo de 72 horas se comunica el estado de la resolución).

https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/esta.html donde también se puede entontrar información adicional.
Al comenzar este formulario te ofrece 2 opciones (en dos columnas), Solicitar Autorización de un viaje a Estados Unidos o Actualizar o revisar la Autorización previamente presentada.
Si no tenías un visado con anterioridad, se debe elegir la opcion de Solicitar. Si ya lo has solicitado, puedes consultar su estado con la opción Revisar de la segunda columna.
Después te obligan a leer una serie de condiciones de exención de responsabilidad y a aceptar que las has entendido para por fin llegar al formulario.
En este formulario te solicitan los datos básicos, como Nombre, Apellidos, Fecha de nacimiento, Número de pásaporte… Está claro, que para viajar e EEUU es necesario tener el pasaporte en vigor.
Luego vienen las preguntas que harán decidir si entras o no en USA.
Preguntas como: si padeces alguna enfermedad contagiosa, algún desorden físico o mental, o si eres adicto a las drogas, si has sido arrestado o declarado culpable por un delito o crimen, si estás involucrado en espionaje o sabotaje, actividades terroristas, genocidio o si has estado involucrado en las persecuciones nazis entre 1933 y 1945, si pretendes buscar trabajo en EEUU, si has sido deportado alguna vez, y algunas preguntas más del estilo.
Una vez finalizado el formlulario recibes una respuesta que puedes imprimirla. Por lo general aprueban la Autorización.
Pero que aprueben la autorización no significa que puedas entrar en USA, ya que en el aeropuerto serás inspeccionado por un funcionario del Sevicio de Aduanas, donde por cualquien motivo pueden denegarte la entrada.
